HANDGUN CLASSES

The Level I Handgun Class introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, and pistol shooting activities. This course will also help prepare the student for participation in the Level II Handgun training class that we offer. This course consists of around 4 hours in the classroom and 2 hours on the firing range. Guns and ammo will be provided by us.

Objectives included are as followed:

• Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling
• Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
• Stance, grip, trigger manipulation, and cadence
• Self diagnostic and mitigating recoil

Topics discussed will be:

• Types of firearms
• Choosing the right firearm for you
• Firearm safety and storage
• Ammunition
• Types of malfunctions
• Grip, stance, trigger control
• Fundamentals of shooting
• Live fire exercises

At this level, we will go more in-depth into the mechanics/principles of shooting, proper holster drawing, and practical shooting drills.  There will be an emphasis on speed of action while performing consistently.  The drills being performed will slowly rise to breakthrough people's perceived limits of their shooting.  

Equipment Needed

• Semiautomatic pistol 
• Kydex holster with a proper belt (Inside or Outside the waistband)
• Multiple magazines for the pistol (at least 3 in total)
• 300 rounds of ammunition

This is the highest level of pistol training and development that we offer.  It will push you to limits that  make fundamental principles difficult to perform, in order to expose the weakest areas of your shooting.  Our goal is to show how simple, yet difficult, it is to reach a high level of shooting performance, while also learning to self diagnose errors.

More Equipment Needed

• All equipment from previous classes (holster, ammo, etc)
• Magazine pouches for your pistol on the belt
• Footwear that can handle repetitive and quick movement

• Shooting obstructed targets
• Incorporating multiple drills together
